University of Utah Hospital
Salt Lake City, Utah
20 Year Relationship
We have worked with the University Hospital on numerous projects over the past 20 years. Most recently, the projects have included the Cardiac Cath Upgrade, CAMT Building 3T MRI Addition #2, remodel of the 6th floor at the University Services Building, relocation of Nuclear Medicine, renovation of Internal Medicine Lab, Pharmacy remodel, Radiology remodels adding 2 magnets, and Master Planning for numerous other projects.
University Hospital Radiology Addition
The University Hospital required additional radiology space to meet the demand for services. A confined area located adjacent to the hospital’s radiology department was available for expansion. The originally planned two level structure was expanded to four levels.
Basement: Research magnet and office area for Magnetic Research Lab.
Main Floor: Radiology, MRI, CT, support rooms, and offices.
Level 2: Shelled area for Newborn Intensive Care Unit.
Level 3: Connector for bridge linking the Moran Eye Center to the main hospital.
Women’s Health
The women’s health and breast care center provides easy access, privacy, and comfort for women in the Salt Lake area. The facility focuses on personal care and utilizes the most advanced diagnostic imaging equipment known today. The facility includes a waiting and reception area, changing rooms, three radiographic rooms, a darkroom, a physician reading room, staff rooms, and support areas.
Radiology Renovation
This project included the primary waiting area for outpatients and the CT and magnet rooms which were designed to include procedures. Also included is a radiographic room for the emergency department, chest x-ray, six radiographic rooms and support areas.
Labor and Delivery
As part of this project, NJRA prepared schematic drawings for a new casework design for one labor and delivery room. This room was evaluated for 2 months time to see how it met the labor and delivery staff’s needs. We also prepared documents to move the medical gases for the Antepartum rooms (Mechanical). After the evaluation we proceeded to change the remaining 10 labor and delivery rooms with the suggestions made by the staff.
