Tyson Stevens, AIA, LEED AP BD+C
Education: Master of Architecture – University of Michigan
Tyson is a multi-disciplinary design professional with experience in architecture, construction and real estate development. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Brigham Young University in 2005 before pursuing his graduate studies in architecture. He received Master of Architecture and Master of Urban Design degrees from the University of Michigan in 2009. While at Michigan, Tyson traveled extensively, participating in design projects in Italy, Argentina, India, Turkey and Spain.
Tyson is a licensed architect in the State of Utah and a member of the AIA. Tyson is also a LEED Accredited Professional in Building Design and Construction. Tyson also has experience in a wide variety of project types. His project experience includes education, healthcare, office, hospitality, residential and urban design. Tyson also has experience performing coordination and documentation for buildings pursuing LEED certification.
Tyson believes in a holistic design philosophy that is based on community involvement. He has participated in many design charettes for downtown revitalization in the cities of Denver, Dallas and Detroit. Tyson was also a team member in an international design project for a new city in northern Turkey. Each of these experiences has taught him to work with stakeholders and constituents to create designs that reflect the values within the community.
In his spare time, Tyson can be found playing ultimate frisbee and ice hockey. He loves spending time and traveling with his wife and newborn baby. You may also see him in the city, photographing Utah’s beautiful buildings and skylines.
